Freehaus is looking for an exceptional architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be qualified Part III, with an ambition to lead project outputs and grow into the role of a project architect. They will have Microstation experience and preferably a good working knowledge of Revit, to help the practice as it moves towards BIM Level 2 capacity.

Currently, our studio is delivering: a series of educational spaces for the Clement James Centre, a new headquarters for The Africa Centre in Southwark, the refurbishment of 639 Tottenham High Road for the social enterprise The Trampery, an innovation hub in Havering as well as number of other GLA Good Growth Fund Projects, residential and workplace schemes across the country.


The successful candidate will be involved in delivering several projects in the Oxfordshire area, including several private residential projects within historic buildings and a new commercial masterplan working with the Hook Norton Brewery. The ideal candidate will be based in the Oxfordshire/Cotswolds Area, working flexibly between a small satellite office in the area and our London studios.

The position requires the following essential experience/criteria:

  • ARB registration with 1-5 years post Part III experience,
  • Full UK Driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • RIBA Stage 0-7 experience,
  • Experience working in listed buildings,
  • Be confident in client facing and community stakeholder engagement roles,
  • Good understanding in construction details and building regulation compliance,
  • MicroStation ready
  • The ability to lead a design team and mentor others,
  • The ability to author reports and other written documents

Additional preferred experience:

  • Job running experience, including contract administration,
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholder clients,
  • Revit, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator proficiency,
