RCKa is looking to fill three positions within its central London studio: a Studio Assistant, Graphic Designer, and Part 2 Architectural Assistant.

Job descriptions for each of these roles are as follows:

Graphic Designer (Full Time)

RCKa architects has an exciting opportunity for a graphic designer with a minimum of 1 year post graduate mixed media and graphics experience.

We are looking for the right person to join our team to help build RCKa’s brand and identity in our friendly and vibrant London studio. You’ll be working on a range of visual material including documents and publications, presentations and competition submissions. Extensive knowledge of typography, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is a must. A good understanding of WordPress would also be useful.

Ours is a friendly studio which specialises in community engagement and collaboration. Candidates will need to demonstrate evidence of their design process, and should be comfortable in articulating their ideas and sharing them with others.

This is a full-time permanent role. Salary £31,500 – £34,500 depending on experience.

Role

  • Design templates for all office documents, brochures, presentations and publications
  • Produce reports, brochures, presentations and publications
  • Produce graphics for articles to be issued on social media including instragram, twitter and LinkedIn
  • Design and manage production of quarterly newsletter and other digital marketing campaigns
  • Design and manage production of hard copy marketing materials
  • Prepare diagrams, illustrations and infographics to support bid documents, public consultation presentations and project reports
  • Other ad-hoc design requirements such as invitations and Christmas cards and photo editing

Skills/qualifications

  • A relevant degree or other higher education qualification.
  • Conscientious and creative with an exceptional eye for detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Self motivated and able to take the initiative in developing new graphics.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • WordPress experience is desirable.

Part 2 Architectural Assistant (Full Time)

RCKa is looking for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our growing team, to work on a range of exciting residential, community, education, and masterplanning projects.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Experience with Revit would be useful, but not essential. Some understanding of UK housing design and policy would also be well received.

We are also looking for someone who will embrace our healthy, supportive and inclusive office culture.

This is a full time, permanent position, attracting an annual salary of £28,500, and we will support the successful candidate in working towards full qualification and a long-term role within the studio through a transparent and structured progression plan.

Studio Assistant (Full Time)

RCKa is looking for a studio assistant to provide administrative support for our team and to ensure the smooth running of the studio. This is a role which will develop with the practice – we want to invest in someone with a positive attitude who is looking for a long-term career with RCKa and has the enthusiasm and vision to grow into and help define the role. 

This is a varied role and will suite candidates who enjoy working on multiple tasks at one time and want to develop their skills to suit their interests.

This is a full time, permanent position.

Responsibilities will include

  • Answering telephone calls and all ‘front-of-house’ duties
  • Coordinating directors’ diaries and providing assistance and support to the directors
  • Project administration
  • Managing and purchasing office materials and supplies
  • Managing marketing material and images
  • Arranging events
  • Website administration 

Qualities

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Able to take the initiative in developing new office procedures
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Conscientious and creative
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress experience is desirable, but not a prerequisite
  • Experience in office management and administration is not essential – we are looking for the someone with the right attitude who can grow into the role. 

This is a full-time permanent role. Salary £24,000 – £26,250 depending on experience.
